Getting started

How do I start playing on Desert PW?

Create an account on the website, download the client from the Files page, run the launcher and wait for the update to finish. Then log in to the game with your account login and password.

What are the rates and what level do I start at?

Experience and spirit rates are x999, drop is x999. A new character starts right at level 100, so you can head to bosses and PvP almost immediately.

Can I use my own Perfect World client?

You need exactly the 1.4.6 Reborn client. The most reliable option is our ready-made build from the Files page (hosted on Google Drive): the server address and the launcher are already set up. If you have a clean 1.4.6 Reborn, install the patch from the files page (once it is published).

The launcher does not update or shows an error
  • Make sure the game is not installed in “Program Files” and the path has no Cyrillic letters.
  • Run the launcher as administrator once.
  • Allow the launcher network access in your firewall.
  • If nothing helps, reinstall the client into a new folder.
The game does not start or crashes on login

Always start the game through the launcher: when elementclient.exe is started directly, the client may miss updates and not match the server. Update your graphics driver and install DirectX 9.0c (June 2010).

Account

How many accounts can I create?

Up to three accounts per e-mail. Impersonating other players or the admins is forbidden, and alt accounts made to farm bonuses and referral rewards break the rules.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Use access recovery on the login page. If the e-mail doesn’t arrive, write to support from the e-mail address set in your account.

How do I protect my account?

Use a unique password and enable two-factor authentication in your account — you will need an authenticator app on your phone. Keep the backup codes somewhere safe.

My character is stuck in the scenery

Your account has an “unstuck” teleport: log out of the game, pick the character and move it to a safe spot. It works only for characters that are not in the game and is available once every 30 minutes.

Bonuses, Scarabs and the shop

What bonuses does the server have?
  • Daily bonus — for logging in to the game; the longer your streak, the better the reward.
  • Online-time bonus — rewards for the time you spend in the game each day.
  • Referrals — invite friends with your own link.
  • Promo codes — published in the news and the community.

You’ll find everything in the Bonuses section of your account.

What are Scarabs?

Scarabs are the site’s internal currency: your balance is kept in Scarabs, while shop prices are shown in US dollars (100 Scarabs = $1). You can top up in your account, and bonuses and promo codes bring Scarabs too.

How do I receive a purchased item?

After a purchase the item is sent to the in-game mail of the chosen character. Open your mailbox at any postman in town. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes.

My purchase has not arrived

Check that you chose the right character and that the mailbox is not full. If more than an hour has passed, contact support with the order number from the history in your account.

The world of Desert PW

Where can I find Khufu?

The pharaoh’s pyramid stands in the Serpent Gorge, near coordinates 258, 482. Five sarcophagi with mummies surround it. Details are on the About page, respawn times in the boss timers.

How do the sarcophagi work?

Walk up to a sarcophagus and dig for 5 seconds — a mummy will rise from it. Sarcophagi that are not dug up sink into the sand after 10 minutes, so it’s best to act as a party.

How often do bosses respawn?

World bosses respawn every 24 h after a kill, Khufu every 24 h. The exact time for each boss is on the timers page.

How often are the rankings updated?

Rankings are recalculated automatically about once an hour, so a fresh level may not show up in the table right away.
